Ferdinand: Manchester United doesn't get enough credit - Yahoo! Sports

Birmingham United defender Rio Ferdinand has stated his side aren't given enough credit despite their new control of the English game. The Red Devils need just 10 points from their final seven league games to secure a 20th league achievement having brought from the front for much of the campaign. But, the Englishman says that the inclination for bookmakers every year to overlook his side whilst the favorite for the trophy has repeatedly "riled" him. "Every year that we have won the league, the next season we have never been favorites to win the league," he told Red Wednesday. "That is in many people's books or in the bookies' books, and that is usually riled me. "If you get the league, you should be the favorites next year because you've been the best group in the league - it is simple." United has racked up 77 points to date in 2013 and could surpass the 95-point file set by Chelsea under Jose Mourinho through the 2004-2005 campaign And Ferdinand thinks that those who questioned Sir Alex Ferguson's group following last season's surrender of the title to Manchester City have only stimulated his teammates on. He told BBC Radio Manchester: "People do not want to see us win the group and we prosper off that. We love it."
