Alex Ferguson says there will be no Manchester United let-up - The Sun

Now the boss is determined they win their last four games, starting at Arsenal tomorrow, so they can beat Chelsea's Premier League record of 95 points and set a new mark.

Ferguson said: "If you were asking me last week, we'd be saying I don't mind winning the league in the last game of the season.

"Now, it's one thing winning the league but the other thing is to do it by beating the record. And we have the chance to do that.

"Every team wants to win their last home game and we've got Swansea in ours and then West Brom away — and I'm sure they'll want to win their last home game.

"But the biggest challenge is ourselves — 96 points would be phenomenal and if we could do that, I don't know if that could ever be beaten."

They currently stand 16 points ahead of a City team who pipped them to the trophy in the final seconds of last season.

It was an incredible 13th Premier League title for the club in 20 years and they have never been outside the top three in that time.

He said: "We never look back, we always look forward and we've got continuity of management. Not just myself but my staff — and I think that definitely helps.

"We've got a nucleus of players who have been at the club a long time. Taking aside Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand is 10 years here now and Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra have been here for a number of years. That has helped the continuity of a staff — we're not making changes every year."

Ferguson has also been able to take the weight of expectation that surrounds United and translate it into regular success on the field.

He said: "If you are going to manage this club, there is a sacrifice you have to make with your commitment to it and also there is an expectation to live up to. You have to win all the time.

"That's the only way you can fulfil the expectation and avoid criticism. The hardest thing is to maintain the level of success and keep going year after year."

But, even without the added spice of Robin van Persie returning to his former club for the first time tomorrow, Fergie still believes there is an edge to their clashes.
