Ann Arbor State Membership Assessment

Ann Arbor Country Team Review Grade: C-Teacheras Comments: This program has seen better days, but for the purchase price, it's a deal. Ann Arbor Country Club has already established somewhat of a checkered history lately. The former nation club teetered on bankruptcy this season, went public and now's working on a recovery. Theyave replaced the restaurant facilities for 2013, and offer and information an improved golf experience. Integrated 1926, the course is short by todayas expectations. From the rear tees, it plays to a 71.1/131 and extends to 6,147. The center tees measure 6,145 and perform to a 68.8/128. I do believe it's harder compared to numbers suggest. Most of the holes are tighta'bordered by dense undergrowth, supply or houses. The vegetables are small and often uphill. That is target golf. Conditions on the many functions that Iave played have already been only ok. Greens and tee boxes were in usable condition. and the fairways produced in. There was quite a bit of clover, if that kind of thing affects you (it doesnat me). Also, the woods just off many fairways are jungle-like inside their density. A ball that crosses the line isn't likely ever to be observed again. Ann Arbor Country Club has some routing problems that surely didnat occur when it absolutely was first created. The very first crosses aside of the driving range. As does time for the club after eighteen, moving between the fourth and fifth requires travelling along a stretch of public road. Different path crossings also are needed. Finally, in several places, properties encroach a tad too near to the course for my tastes. When adjacent property was offered to various builders, that is all obviously the result of bad planning in the clubsa distant past. The piece between five and four was sold off so somebody could have a high peninsula ignoring many greens holes. The crossing roads were allowed in order that more course houses could possibly be offered. Iad be thinking about seeing an idea of the original program. The front nine strikes me as largely original, but I canat say the same about much of the back. There is a marked distinction between the first seven, and holes 12 - 18 in both feel and look. Ann Arbor Country Clubas management understands that it doesnat have a premium class any more.Weekend prices are $30 with a cart; $22 walking. Thatas well in accordance with the bargain priced classes in the area. Speed of play has been good on my visits. Walking is allowed, but there are certainly a couple of mountains that may leave you gasping for air. Unless a serious effort is made by the club to improve conditions, I canat suggest the course as a location for the wandering bogey player. For the local looking for a deal, however, I think it is just fine.
